my 70 year old mother was arrested at the hospital Good morning Pastor Greg, My name is Tony Bishop, first let me say I thank the Lord for the work you guys do, giving us facts through Gods word in a world gone mad. I will make this as short as possible, my Father had a massive stroke around April of last year. I was with my mom in the emergency room when the ER doctor told us he was unresponsive and wouldn’t make it through the night. I’m a pastor at the first Baptist church of Augusta Kentucky and we began praying for Gods mercy, when morning came my father gave us a thumbs up. After a few weeks we brought him home and my mom who retired from her career as a nurse has tended to him since. My mom is the only one that can understand what my dad is trying to say and he still is only able to wiggle his toes on the right side and move his right arm. After 8 months of mom taking care of dad he developed rash 2 weeks ago and Monday in tears my mom said we are going to have to call the ambulance. Dad was taken to Harrison Memorial in Cynthiana KY and mom road in the ambulance and didn’t leave his side. Yesterday my 70 year old mother, who has never had as much as a speeding ticket was arrested at the hospital by the Cynthiana police department, because she refused to leave my dad. My dad tested positive for co-vid and they said she had to go, my mom said I have been with him this whole time, I will sign a waiver, I will wear PPE and do anything but don’t do this. These folks had zero compassion and my mom was cuffed and went to jail. This is communism and I know you’re a news network of good character, my dad can only be understood by my mom and he is incapable of pressing a call button. My mother has slept by his side for 8 months because of this reason, now my dad has no voice and no way to reach out for help. I’ve been in the hospitals and my mom’s was a nurse and I can tell you nurses are wonderful but they get busy and that call button is very important a call button my dad can’t use. I’m asking for your help, I have never asked for any help in my 43 years but I’m asking now, we get it, this is a serious infection but my dad having a voice is serious, human decency is serious and so is human life.
